Perfect Peace

I took this picture with my Kodak instant camera in my college days as I was headed back to school.  This is a view of the Tennessee River just off Highway 35 in Scottsboro, Alabama.  I always loved the Tennessee River.  There were mornings when I would take the boat out early when the water would be smooth as glass, and I would be surrounded by peaceful silence.  As I was headed back for another semester of school, I knew it would be awhile before I could experience such peace, so I decided to stop and just hang out on the riverbank before heading across Sand Mountain.  It’s funny how often I see this picture in my mind’s eye when I think of peacefulness.

Isaiah 26:3 says,

“You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.”

Trusting in God will bring perfect peace to you at any time, in any situation.  When you feel as though the storms around you are going to take you under, keep your mind on God and trust Him.  He is the Creator of the universe, yet he knows your name and knows every thought in your mind and every fear in your heart.  He will give you perfect peace that passes all understanding if you will only trust Him.
